Mark Hennon is a Project Manager on the Place Lab team within SFPA. He is thrilled to be a part of the Citywide Public Space Initiative team working to enhance parks and public spaces across the City. While immensely enjoying parks as a child in his native Los Angeles, it was through working as a camp counselor in high school that he came to appreciative the transformative power that parks can have on people. Upon moving to Seattle to attend University of Washington and majoring in Natural & Constructed Environments, Mark realized that his passion for parks could translate into something greater beyond an observant interest. He worked with Seattle Parks Foundation on overcoming obstacles towards high value volunteerism and then on alley activation and streetscape improvements for the Alliance for Pioneer Square BID. Most recently, Mark worked in public-private partnerships on urban park management for the Downtown Seattle Association. He is an unashamed transplant and excited to finally be living in the City that trail blazes innovative public space enhancement. Mark looks forward to exploring each and every city park in the near future.
