Brooke Ray Rivera is Executive Director of Place Lab, formerly Build Public. Brooke Ray brings expertise in creative urban planning, community development, and public private partnerships after six years with Passerelle Investment Company, a progressive real estate investment group focused on downtown revitalization in Silicon Valley. At Passerelle, she implemented multiple pop-up parks, public art exhibitions with SFMOMA and Christie's, and other place-making efforts in conjunction with her work attracting and curating a vibrant commercial tenant mix in downtown Los Altos. Brooke Ray has worked in private, public, and non-profit sectors, and has wide-ranging experience in the realm of sustainable design, from LEED consulting and green infrastructure planning to ecology and marine biology research. Brooke Ray received a B.A. in Biology from Williams College and holds dual masters degrees in City & Regional Planning (MCP) and Landscape Architecture (MLA) from the University of California, Berkeley. She lives in San Francisco and can often be found cycling around the Bay, playing ultimate frisbee with her husband, and enjoying her 1-year old daughter.
